WANNI : TROOPS on search and clear operations in VISUAMADU, AMPAKAMAM, PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU and MALTHOTTAM areas recovered ten T-56 weapons, three T-81 weapons, one Light Machine Gun (LMG), two 0.22 weapons, fifty-one hand grenades, eighteen Arul bombs, thirteen 60 mm mortars, twenty-three Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG), seven hundred and fifty-two rounds of T-56 ammunition, sixty-six 81 mm mortar bombs, four Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) links, three 152 mm artillery shells, one thousand and fifty MPMG ammunition, one magnetic claymore mine, sixty-two claymore mines, one hundred and twelve claymores, designed to fix in vehicles, six anti personnel mines, one suicide bomb that can be fixed to a motor cycle, one 120 mm mortar bomb, five pressure mines, twelve Bangalore torpedoes, two Recoiling (RCL) bombs, 178 kg of C-4 explosives, forty-four suicide jackets, two suicide braziers, eleven suicide kit plates, twenty explosives chargers, two booby traps, three boxes of .22 ammunition, seventy-six rounds of 23 mm ammunition, one thousand six hundred and eighty-six detonators, eight hundred and sixty 60 mm mortar cartridges, three T-56 magazines, five LMG drums, ten boxes of T-56 ammunition, sixteen boxes of 12.7 mm ammunition, three boxes of MPMG ammunition, 10m long detonator code, one aiming picket, eleven remote controllers, two shotguns, two firing devices, one switch, eight booby traps, fixed to claymore mines, six hundred booby traps, fixed to 122 mm artillery shells, twenty rounds of 122 mm artillery shells and twenty-two cartridges of 122 mm artillery.
EAST: BATTICALOA Police engaged in a search and clear operations in THONIKATTAMADU, VAKARAI recovered one hundred and one T-56 weapons, five 60 mm mortar launchers and three commando mortar launchers around 4.15 p.m. on Thursday (18).
Meanwhile, Navy troops in TRINCOMALEE conducted a search operation, in VELLATHODDAM area and recovered five hundred and twelve 81 mm mortars, one hundred and ninety-two 81 mm mortar cartridges, twenty-four RPG rounds, twenty –four RPG charges, four belt orders and one hundred pouches on the same day (18).
In the meantime, Army troops recovered one shot gun during a search operation in MAILANPIDDI, TRINCOMALEE on Thursday (18)
