Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) recently organized a school stationery donation programme at Lumbini Primary school, Welikanda.
The donation of school stationery to the value of Rs 30,000.00 was made by Lion’s Club International District 306 C 1 of Thalangama South. 86 students of low - income families from Welikanda area were chosen to receive those incentives. The donation consisted of exercise books, library books and other essential stationery items.
Lion Rohan Gunathilaka and Lion Lady Maurine Gunathilaka graced the occasion as Chief Guests while Mrs Rekha Senadeera accompanied them.
Lieutenant Colonel R. A. T Ranasinghe of the SFHQ - E, Principal and teachers of the Lumbini Primary school, parents and students also attended the event.
