Knowledge on Livestock Enhanced among Kilinochchi Civilians

With the objective of assisting improvement of economic condition of low-income group families in Kilinochchi and its suburbs, the 57 Division Headquarters of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Tuesday (23) assembled a group of 30 cattle farmers to listen to a lecture session on Livestock and Cattle Rearing, organized at Kilinochchi Utility Centre.

14 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops under command to the 572 Brigade invited Dr Gamini Wickramarathna and Professor Ananda Kumar at Faculty of Agriculture in the University of Jaffna to enlighten the civilians, engaged in livestock and cattle farming. Lectures also touched on possibilities of adopting thrifty measures to improve their sources of income in a more productive manner and how they could get cattle at very low price through the Department of Livestock and Agriculture.

Meanwhile, on the directions of the Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN) and under the instructions of the General Officer Commanding (GOC), 57 Division, Major General Vijitha Ravipriya organized a lunch treat to 15 children in the ‘Home of Joy’ (Wanni) at Mankulam on Tuesday (23).

574 Brigade troops under the supervision of its Commander after serving meals to those kids gave away gifts and toys. This Home for Children marked its 7th Anniversary on the same day (23).Asics footwear | Footwear
