Kiranchi Mobile Medical Clinic Treats More Than 500 Patients

663 Brigade and 2 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) troops serving under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi, intending to extend their helping hand to civilians in far remote areas arranged a mobile medical clinic at Kiranchi Grama Seva Division in Pooneryn on Sunday (16).

Over an estimated crowd of 580 civilians reached the clinic to receive treatment for different ailments and diseases, dental consultations, medical assistance for eyesight weaknesses and hearing defects, until late afternoon.

The project, organized under the supervision of Brigadier Duminda Keppetiwalana, General Officer Commanding, 66 Division, was assisted by medical officers, dentists, para medical staff and assistants, dispatched from the Regional Director’s Office of Health Services - Kilinochchi at the request of the 66 Division.

Attendees were screened for vision, hearing and health status before they were referred to respective consultants attending the clinic. A certain stock of most essential drugs were also distributed among needy patients who showed up at the clinic in need of medication.

Troops also provided refreshments and all possible assistance to the patients who reached the mobile clinic from far distant areas. Meal packets and snacks were also made available to all who were attending the clinic.
