Kilinochchi Troops Transfer Merits on War Heroes & Civil Victims on National War Heroes' Day

Several religious programmes at Baptist Church, Bharathipuram, organized as per directions given by the Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, Major General Vijitha Ravipriya and under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding of 57 Division, Brigadier A.S Hewawitharana and the troops of 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment transferred merits on fallen War Heroes and warfare victims following arrangements put in place by the Commander 571 Brigade, Colonel Najeewa Edirisinghe on Sunday (19), the National War Heroes' day.

The Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, the General Officer Commanding 57 Division and the Commander 571 Brigade participated in the events with 11 Officers and 51 Army personnel, together with 162 civilians of the area.

Similarly, troops of 1 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) organized a special religious project on Saturday (18) at Korakkankaddu Pullayar Kovil for commemoration of both fallen War Heroes and perished civilians. Colonel R.A.J.N Ranasingha, Commander 573 Brigade and Commanding Officer 1 SLSR participated in the event with 40 Army personnel and 70 civilians in the area.

Troops of 7 the SLLI organized a special prayer on Friday (17) at Slalam Jumma Mosque for commemoration of War Heroes and perished civilians during the warfare in Kilinochchi area under the supervision of the Commander 571 Brigade, Colonel Najeewa Edirisinghe. The Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, the General Officer Commanding 57 Division and the Commander 571 Brigade attended the religious observances with 11 Officers and 60 Army personnel.
