A workshop to educate school students in Kilinochchi area on ‘Evolution of the Telecommunication’ was conducted by Mr. Upual Ekanayaka, a lecturer from the University of Moratuwa on Monday (18) to coincide with the World Telecommunication Day.
It was conducted at ‘Nelum Piyasa’ auditorium, Security Force Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) with the participation of more than 300 students with the blessings of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, SFHQ-KLN.
The workshop consisted of a Telecommunication exhibition on signal procedures, modern telecommunication technology and equipment, practical sessions, etc; the Dialog Pvt Ltd supplied financial assistance to make the workshop a great success.
Troops of the 9 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) and 7 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) serving under the SFHQ-KLN took the lead in arranging the entire exhibition and the event of technical importance.
Senior officers from the SFHQ-KLN, Principals, teachers and students attended the event.
