Kilinochchi & Mullaittivu Commanders Visit Their Formations

Major General Amal Karunasekara, Commander, Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) made a formal visit to SFHQ-KLN under command battalions in the 57 Division during 5 – 9 February. 

The visiting SF Commander was warmly welcomed by Commanding Officers of respective battalions and they further explained the present security situation and Civil Military Coordination (CIMIC) activities conducted by the battalions.  
A Guard Turnout to be in line with military formalities presented by the troops of the battalions saluted the Commander, SFHQ-KLN. 

At the same time, Major General Karunasekara visited 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops where he was welcomed by the Commanding Officer. 

Finally, on February (9), the SF Commander addressed the troops in the 9 VIR who are under battalion training. During his speech, the Commander stressed the importance of the battalion training and also the value of past experiences to face future challenges.  

General Officer Commanding (GOC), 57 Division, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, several officers took part to the visit.

Meanwhile, Major General P.U.S. Vithanage, Commander, Security Force Headquarters – MLT (SFHQ-MLT) made a formal visit to the 681 Brigade on Wednesday (10) in order to greet the troops and learn about them. 

Colonel D.M.P.S. Dissanayake, Brigade Commander, 681 Brigade warmly welcomed the visiting SF Commander.

A Guard Turnout presented by the troops of the 14 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) at the Brigade Headquarters premises welcomed him. 

During the visit, the SF Commander planted a coconut sapling to mark his visit to the 681 Brigade Headquarters.

At the same time, the Commander, 681 Brigade briefly explained current roles and tasks of the troops to the visiting Mullaittivu Commander. 

Finally, the SF Commander together with officers and other ranks sat for lunch and signed the Visitors’ Book to mark his visit to the 681 Brigade Headquarters.
