Kilinochchi & Jaffna Troops Learn More on ‘Cyber Security’

A training programme on ‘Cyber Security’ was held for Army soldiers of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) at its Nelum Piyasa auditorium, Kilinochchi on Thursday (29).

The programme was conducted on the directions of the Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN).

The aim of this workshop was to keep Army personnel alert to ‘Cyber Security’ risks and improve their skills to be used as preventive measures.

250 Army personnel attended the lecture, conducted by Lieutenant Colonel G. N. U Jayarathne, Colonel Information Technology, Directorate of Information Technology.

Colonel S. W. M Fernando, Colonel General Staff, SFHQ-KLN and Lieutenant Colonel P. W. M. M. D Wijeratne, Commanding Officer, 9 SLSC also attended the session.

Meanwhile, another round of an awareness programme on the same subject, ‘Cyber Security’ kicked off at the Security Forces Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), auditorium on Wednesday (28).

A total of 350 officers and other rankers who work as Information Technological (IT) officers and other rankers of the SFHQ-J, took part in the awareness programme.

Several senior officers of the SFHQ-J attended the awareness programme during the inauguration.
