Flood-affected civilians in Jaffna area received assistance from the Army in the last few days, providing food, transport and other sanitary facilities from Brigades and Battalions under the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J).
On Tuesday (17), Major General Nandana Udawatte, Commander SFHQ-J visited several flood affected areas in the SFHQ-J area and instructed Brigades and Battalion Commanders to extend necessary requirements for civilians as required.
Meanwhile, engineer troops serving the SFHQ-J cleaned drains in the area and allowed excess water to drain.
