The finals of the Elle Championship - 2019 organized by the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) were held at the 5 Sri Lanka Army Ordnance Corps playground on Sunday (7).
The tournament was organized by the Forward Maintenance Area (North) under the directions of the Commander, SF-J, Major General Dharshana Hettiarrachchi to improve sportsmanship of soldiers and to develop cohesion among them.
A total number of 40 teams competed in the tournament in which 4 Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police (SLCMP) and 17 Gemunu Watch (GW) teams qualified for the finals. During the finals, 17 GW players clinched the Championship while women’s Championship was grabbed by 7 Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) Elle team. 4 Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps (SLAMC) women team emerged runners-up.
Commander, SF-J graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and awarded the trophies and certificates to the winners in the awarding ceremony. General Officers Commanding of 51, 52 Divisions, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area (North), Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers and Army personnel witnessed the final game.Nike footwear | AIR MAX PLUS
