Paying tribute to the valiant efforts of security personnel who had lost life and limb for the nation, the MOD Seva Vanitha Unit felicitated 54 deserving spouses, family and individuals, providing them with interest free loans worth of Rs. 300,000/= each The loans were presented to 32 Army, 08 Navy, 04 Air Force and 10 Police recipients respectively.
The initial provision of a loan of Rs.100, 000/= was symbolically handed over to one of the recipients this morning (March 15) by Secretary Defence Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa at his Ministry premises.
The MOD Seva Vanitha Unit Chairperson Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa was also present at the occasion. Repayment of this welfare loan has been facilitated will interest free monthly installments. The Ranaviru loan scheme was initiated by Secretary Defence Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa contemplating welfare needs of the war heroes and the families.
