Inter Regiment Body Building & Weight-Lifting Tournament Held

The Inter Regiment Weight Lifting, Body Building and Power Lifting tournament was held during December (10-11) at the Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) Weight Lifting Gymnasium.

The award ceremony was held on 11 December at New Torrington Indoor Gymnasium.

Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - West (SFHQ - West) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest together with Major General M. H. P. Mihindukulasooriya, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area - West (FMA - West), Colonel Commandant, SLAGSC, who is also the Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Body Building, Weight Lifting and Power Lifting Committee.

The winners at the competitions are as follows;

Team Leader - Corporal V. Priyankara (SLAGSC) - Body Building Overall Championship      

Sergeant Y. G. Amila (SLAGSC) - Mr. Army

Team Leader - Bombardier K. M. V. R. J. Kulatunga (SLA) - Weight Lifting Overall Championship     

Corporal C. S. S. P. Wijesuriya (SLAGSC) - Overall Weight Lifter

Warrant Officer II H. P. P. Amarasinghe (SLAGSC) - Power Lifting Overall Championship

Lance Corporal O. B. D. G. S. Wickremaratna (SLAGSC) The Best Power Lifter
