Inter Battalion Elle and Tug of War Tournament Held in Kilinochchi

65 Division troops of the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) recently held their year’s Elle and Tug of War competitions as sports programmes in the 65 Division Headquarters grounds in Mallavi.

The Inter Battalion Elle Tournament was organized by the 15 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) under the close supervision of the 651 Brigade Commander, Brigadier Ranjith Abeysinghe.

19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) and 11 (V) Gajaba Regiment (GR) teams vied in the finals and 19 SLLI emerged champions in the Elle tournament.

Meanwhile, the Inter Battalion Tug of War Tournament kicked off on the same day at the same venue on the directions of the General Officer Commanding, 65 Division, Major General Sarath Weerawardane.

Inter Battalion Tug of War Tournament was organized by the 7 (V) Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) under the close supervision of the 652 Brigade Commander, Colonel Lankeshwara Mahinkanda.

10 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) and 15 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) troops entered the finals. 10 SLLI finally clinched the championship after a close tussles.

Major General Sarath Weerawardane, GOC, 65 Division graced the event as the Chief Guest and awarded trophies to the winners.

General Officers Commanding, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks under command to the SFHQ-KLN participated in the awarding ceremony.
