TRINCOMALEE:  AS thousand of trapped civilians are continuing  to find their way to Security Forces-held areas for safety across the lagoon,  some more have resorted to escape using risky seas. They left PUTHUMATTALAN crossing the lagoon and reached the Naval troops in PULMODDAI this afternoon (22).

The previous day (21), sixteen girls, fifteen boys, thirty-seven females and fifty men from PUTHUMATTALAN reached the same venue aboard six small boats.

Those escapees were initially rushed to PULMODDAI Indian serviced Field hospital in view of the nature of their LTTE gunshot injuries and various other sicknesses.

On Monday (20) two hundred and two civilians from PUTHUMATTALAN area arrived at the same location on sixteen boats.
