Indian Command Course Delegation Visits Rehabilitation Centre For Former Combatants

A visiting delegation of the Indian Army Higher Command Course-2011, as part of their itinerary in Sri Lanka, visited Wanni on Tuesday (1) and received an update on roles and tasks of the Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni (SFHQ-W).

The delegation, headed by Air Commodore P.R Navalkar of Indian Air Force on arrival at the SFHQ-W premises, was received by Major General A.K.S Perera, Commander, SFHQ-W who afterwards presented an update on the civilian-oriented roles of the Security Forces in peacetime.

The delegation, accompanied by their spouses took time off to visit the Poonthottam Rehabilitation Centre where former LTTE combatants are rehabilitated and trained for different vocations.

Senior officers of the office of Commissioner General of Rehabilitation and several others were associated with the visit to the rehabilitation centre.
