Head of Visiting Indian Army Higher Command Course Calls on Commander

A representative delegation of the Indian Army Higher Command Course-2011, currently in Sri Lanka paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya Wednesday (2) morning at Army Headquarters.

Air Commodore P.R Navalkar of Indian Air Force, Head of the touring 16-member delegation, accompanied by Colonel Anil Pushkarna and the Defence Attaché at High Commission of India, during their meeting with the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, exchanged views on bilateral matters of importance with special emphasis on training modules, related to both military services.    

The visiting Air Force Officer presented a token memento to the Commander of the Army towards the end of the cordial meeting. The recipient reciprocated with a similar gesture. Before his exit, the visiting military officer left his signature on the VIP book at the Commander’s secretariat.

The delegation, comprised of Indian Air Force and Army officers during their six-day tour in Sri Lanka visited Security Forces Headquarters, Wanni, School of Artillery, Commissioner General of Rehabilitation and a number of other places of archaeological, religious, cultural and tourist interest before they called on the Commander of the Army.

The delegation was expected to call on Navy and Air Force Commanders later on Wednesday (2). Spouses of the visiting officers were associated with the visits to the places of tourist attraction.
