The Gemunu Watch (GW) Seva Vanitha Unit on Saturday (24) staged the musical concert, ‘Sara Sihina’ with popular Bhathiya and Santhush duo with the objective of raising funds for GW War Heroes who remain handicapped after injuries in the war.
The musical evening at St Joseph College indoor stadium in Colombo was graced by Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya as the Chief Guest and Mrs Manjulika Jayasuriya, President, Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB). Both of them were warmly received by Major General S. Udumalagala, Colonel of GW Regiment and Mrs Chintha Udumalagala, Chairperson, Gemunu Watch Seva Vanitha Unit.
Proceeds from the musical evening are to be used for uplift of living conditions of War Hero families and promotion of welfare support to disable War Heroes.
A packed audience, together with senior GW officers, family members of War Heroes and music lovers enjoyed the evening.
