The Gajaba Regiment (GR) Inter Battalion Volleyball Tournament - 2019 got underway at the GR Regimental Headquarters ground in Saliyapura, Anuradhapura during 22 - 24 November.
The tournament has been designed in order to upgrade sports skills of soldiers and enhance cohesion and understanding between the Officers and Other Ranks of the Gajaba family.
More than 18 teams competed in the tournament on League system. 11 GR team won the Championship by beating 3 GR team in the final tussle to become Champions in the Gajaba Regiment Volleyball Tournament 2019. 3 GR won the Runner-up slot and the 15 GR became the 2nd Runner-up.
Colonel Nilanga Fernando, Officiating Center Commandant, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
