A total of 2494 other rankers and two officers of the Army who are considered as Absent Without Official Leave (AWOL) have been issued with their legal discharge by Tuesday (19) evening under the ongoing month-long general amnesty period which came into effect on December 1, 2016.
During the 19-day period, a total of 2983 other rankers and three officers have sought their discharge after reaching respective Regimental Centres across the country.
Remaining absentees are requested to make use of the General Amnesty and receive their discharge before December 31, 2016.
