Fourth Tamil Course Attendees Given Certificates

The fourth spoken Tamil language course conducted intensively for a period of one-month for the best interest of soldiers serving the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi, (SFHQ-KLN), ended on Wednesday (28) in a certificate-awarding ceremony.

The course began following a proposal of Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi (SF-KLN).

The Commander, SF-KLN as the Chief Guest for the awarding ceremony delivered a brief speech and gave away certificates to the first ten soldiers who obtained the best merits out of 750 Army personnel. The ceremony at ‘Nelumpiyasa’ was attended by many Senior Officers including General Officers Commanding and Brigade Commanders.

During the past 9 months, around 3103 soldiers of the SFHQ-KLN have been educated on Tamil language. Kilinochchi troops would be benefited largely following this knowledge of Tamil since they move about in areas where Tamil language is widely spoken.

District Additional Secretary, Kilinochchi, S. Sathyaseelan, Deputy Inspector General of Police, Mr Mahesh Walikanna, Commander, Forward Maintenance Area - Kilinochchi, Brigadier General Staff - SFHQ-KLN, Brigadier Administration & Quartering - SFHQ-KLN, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Zonal Education Directors, Hindu and Moulavis in the area also graced the occasion.
