In response to an invitation, extended by the Security Force Headquarters – Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, a delegation of bankers, headed by Mr Ajith Nivard Cabral, Governor, Central Bank of Sri Lanka arrived in Kilinochchi on Sunday (11).
During the tour, Hon Basil Rajapaksa, Minister of Economic Development who also arrived in Kilinochchi, laid the cornerstone for construction of the Central Bank branch in the Northern Province, together with Dr Cabral, Hon Minister Douglas Devananda (MP), Hon M. Chandrakumar (MP), Major General (Retd) G.A. Chandrasiri, Governor for Northern Province, Major General Udaya Perera, Security Force Commander – Kilinochchi and a few other senior officers.
During Mr Cabral’s stay in Kilinochchi, he visited Kilinochchi Waddakachchi farm, Kilinochchi children’s park, Kilinochchi Mankulam temple, Kilinochchi St Theresa’s Church and shared a couple of views with ordinary people in and around Kilinochchi town.
