A delegation of foreign academics and Conflict-Study practitioners who are now in Sri Lanka visited the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ-J) as a part of their field visits on Monday (3).
The Objective of the visit was to gain first-hand knowledge on post-conflict developments in the North, and the ones that had been performed by the armed forces at formation and tactical levels.
Altogether 15 students from United Kingdom, Philippines, Myanmar, India, Thailand, and Indonesia have joined the visit that was arranged by the Office of National Unity and Reconciliation (ONUR) and the Bandaranaike Centre for International Studies (BCIS).
The visiting delegation was warmly welcomed by Major General Darshana Hettiarachchi, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna to the Security Force Headquarters – Jaffna (SFHQ-J), before the Commander, SF-J educated them on roles of military assistance in post conflict scenario in the Jaffna peninsula.
