Troops serving the 591,592 and 593 Brigades of the 59 Division of the Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) participated in the Inter Unit Football Tournament organized by the 59 Division on Monday (13) at the Wattapalai Sendmin playgrounds.
Major General P.U.S Vithanage, Commander SFHQ -MLT attended as the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony of the Football Tournament which was organized under the directives of Brigadier L.M Mudalige, Brigade Commander, 59 Division. More than 10 teams participated in the tournament.
The final match was held between the 24 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (SLSR) team and the 4 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) team. 4 SLLI team won the match scoring 5 goals.
The Commander, SFHQ -MLT, gave away trophies and certificates to the winners and runners-up.
Officers, other ranks serving the 59 Division, civilians and students from nearby schools also witnessed the football tournament.
