Flood-Affected Students in Batti &;amp; Polonnaruwa Given School Accessories

The 'Vishwa Parami Foundation' in response to a request made by the 23 Division in Punani recently distributed school accessories among 800 school children in 23 schools in Polonnaruwa and Batticaloa districts.

Children of families affected by recent floods were given priority in the distribution of those school accessories since their parents found it difficult to re-buy those school books once again for their school going children.

23 Division troops on the directions of its General Officer Commanding (GOC) Brigadier L. Mahinda Mudalige inquired into their requirements through respective Grama Seva divisions before the patronage of the Vishwa Parami Foundation was sought by the Army.

A brief ceremony at Manampitiya Prathibha Cultural Centre, headed by GOC 23 Division, Dimbulagala Zonal Education Director, Principals, Teachers, Parents and officials of the Vishwa Parami Foundation, saw that those school accessories were distributed among children.
