First Training Round for Army Cooks &;amp; Stewards Concludes


The first stage of the training programmes that were conducted to upgrade the professional knowledge on cookery and stewardship of Army cooks and stewards working in island-wide Army formations concluded recently at the Swiss Lanka Hotel School.

On the directions of Chief of Staff and Civil Administration Directorate with the cooperation of Swiss Lanka Hotel School and Aquinas University College, began the two-month long practical training programmes on May 11.

25 members of both vocations received professional training under the first phase which included theoretical and practical sessions. The stewards were trained for two weeks and others a period of one month.

The participants who successfully completed the first phase received certificates from the respective institutes who conducted those training programmes.
