On the Eve of Nepali Army Chief’s Departure Commander Extends Greetings

Ending a successful five-day long good will tour in Sri Lanka at the invitation of Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army, General Rajendra Chhetri, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) of the Nepali Army, accompanied by his spouse and a delegation of ten military and civil members, amid warm greetings were to leave late this night (21) for Nepal.

Just hours prior to their departure Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army and Mrs Chandrika Senanayake, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit met General Rajendra Chhetri, COAS of the Nepali Army and Mrs Rita Chhetri, Spouse of the COAS at the hotel in Colombo and had a brief exchange of views and pleasantries.

At the same occasion, the Commander of the Army, appreciative of his visit to the island, presented him with the album of photographs taken in specific locations during his tour in Sri Lanka.

During his stay in Sri Lanka, he paid courtesy calls on HE the President, Secretary Defence, Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army, Navy and Air Force Commanders and made a formal visit to the Security Force Headquarters – Mullaittivu and the 22 Division Headquarters in Trincomalee.

Major General Dampath Fernando, Deputy Chief of Staff saw them off at the Airport.
