A five-member representative group of Etisalat Telecommunication Company once again threw its weight behind Army rugby skills and offered its financial assistance for promotion of the game in the Army.
The Etisalat group, including Ms Udeni Rambukwella, Assistant Manager Brand Marketing, Mr Jayampathi Mawilmada, Regional Business Manager, Mr Wail Ismail Salman, Chief Executive Officer, Mr Riyaaz Rasheed, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Mr Janaka Jayalath, Chief Commercial Officer, called at the Commander's office and discussed ways and means of assisting Army ruggerites who have recorded victories one after the other in the most recent times.
Etisalat has extended its financial support by way of sponsorships and the discussion centered on exploring possibilities of further improving the game in the future.
Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army, expressing his gratitude for the initiative, opined that such support would certainly stimulate the rugby players, elevating the game to international standards.
Major General B.A Perera, Chairman, Army Rugby Committee and Colonel W.A.P.M Wijesinghe, Vice Chairman, Army Rugby Committee re also associated with the meeting.
