With the intention of popularizing ‘Elle’ game, 18 Gemunu Watch (GW) troops under the supervision of the 12 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - Central (SFHQ-Cen) launched an Elle Championship Tournament among the troops serving under the SFHQ-Cen during 15 – 16 March at Moneragala Municipal Council ground.
19 Elle teams representing all formations and training schools under the SFHQ-Cen vied in the two-day tournament for championship and the finals got underway on the second day.
3 Sri Lanka National Guard (3 SLNG) was crowned as champions and 2nd place was grabbed by 9 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment.
Major General Ruwan De Silva, Commander, Security Forces – Central gave his blessings to the project and instructed Commanding Officer 18 Gemunu Watch to spearhead the arrangement.
