8 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG), 8 Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA), 27 SLNG and 22 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) under 232 Brigade, 222 Brigade, 23 Division, 22 Division and 24 Division of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E), responding to the needs of the public, recently went on distributing more water stocks among families, living in Koralaipattu, Sinhalagama, Ilangaturei, Karakamunai, Ariyamakeni, Bakmitiyawa and Karamunai areas.

Ven. Lunugamvehera Wimalaratne Thero and Mailapitiye Samiddivansha Thero of Sri Ranasingharama provided sponsorship in this regard.

In the meantime, troops serving the 222 Brigade, 22 Division, 23 Division and 24 Division distributed dry ration packs and cooked meals among families in drought -hit areas.

Recently, troops of 8 Gemunu Watch (GW) serving the 231 Brigade of the 23 Division organized a job placement programme in collaboration with the Maliban house, with a view to providing opportunities to unemployed young men and women in Unachchiya area.

Meanwhile, the troops of 6 VIR serving under 231 Brigade and 23 Division in the SFHQ-East, conducted a ‘Sharmadana’ campaign to clean the surroundings of the Navachcholai Pre-school on Saturday (30).
