DSCSC Student Officers Listen to Commander

At the invitation of the Commandant, Defence Services Command and Staff College (DSCSC) at Sapugaskanda, the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake on Friday (29) afternoon delivered a lecture to student officers, reading for passed staff college (psc) degree at Sapugaskanda DSCSC.

The assignment, being the first for Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake upon his assumption of office as the Commander of the Army, was meant to motivate tri-service student officers at DSCSC, now affiliated to the University of Kelaniya.

Major General N J Walgama, Commandant DSCSC welcomed the visiting Commander and requested him to deliver the address after several introductory remarks.

The speaker, touching on a range of issues, related to a wide range of questions that speak of the academia under learning, said that the DSCSC, having now gained university states, is rendering an invaluable service to all tri-services by grooming officers who are expected to face 21st century challenges.

Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake answered many questions that were presented to him at the end of the sessions. He also mingled with student officers and exchanged views with them.

An exchange of mementoes culminated the DSCSC programme.
