Colombo-based Defence Services College (DSC) had its annual ‘Colours Night’ awarding ceremony Tuesday (12) evening at the college auditorium with the participation of Hon Minister of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam as the Chief Guest.
The colourful event, graced by Mr. Kapila Waidyaratne PC, Secretary Defence, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army and Vice Admiral Sirimewan Ranasinghe, Commander of the Navy as distinguished guests rewarded students of Tri-service families for their exceptional talents in the field of sports.
Lighting of the traditional oil lamp set the stage for commencement of the proceedings after the brief welcome speech delivered by the DSC principal. Minister and all other distinguished invitees joined award of Colours to the recipients in succession.
Education Ministry officials, Tri-service officers, parents, invitees and students took part in the ceremony.
