A stock of ready-made garments, donated by Mr Thyagaraj Kanthakumar for the use of civilians in Velankulam, Madukulam, Sinnathampanai and Senkadapaddai villagers in the 61 Division Headquarters area were distributed on Tuesday (12) during a brief ceremony at 61 Division Headquarters’ indoor stadium.
All those villages under Vavuniya Divisional Secretariat come under the Gramaseva Division of Velankulam in the Vavuniya District. 136 selected civilians from each family were given away those gift parcels containing garments.
Brigadier A. Kariyakarawana, General Officer Commanding, 61 Division, Brigadier K.G.D Perera, 611 Brigade Commander and several senior officers attended the brief event.
