Disable Sportsmeet in Full Swing

SRI LANKA Army Sports Association for the Disable, organized Inter Regimental Sports Tournament for disable War Heroes is on now. On 11th and 12th June, Volleyball competitions were held at Gajaba Regimental (GR) Center, Saliyapura.

Teams from eight Army Regiments participated in this tournament where Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) Regiment became champions and GR became the runners-up. Lance Corporal W. Upali from GR was adjudged the best player of the tournament and the soldier, Private M.W.A Priyankara from SLLI was the Best Setter. Lance Corporal E.D.P Lalith Kumara of SLLI was selected the Best Hitter.

The Chief Guest for the occasion was Major General S.W.S Dawulagala, Commander, Security Forces Headquarters - South and Regimental Commander, GR. Two veteran umpires from Sri Lanka Volleyball Umpires Association Mr P. Jayarathna Balasuriya and Mr A. Wickramapala conducted umpiring. Senior officers from the Army and a large number of other ranks and sportsmen and women were present on the occasion.
