The seventh place runner up in the recent 'Ranaviru Real Star (RRS) Mission IV', Major Thilina Chandrakumara of Gemunu Watch (GW) was twice lucky on Wednesday (3) when the mega show’s architect Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa, Secretary to the Ministry of Defence and Urban Development, awarded him a brand new car (Honda Fit) as an appreciation of his singing talents while being confined to a wheel chair.
The brief event at Ministry of Defence (MoD) premises saw Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksa together with Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa, Chairperson of the Seva Vanitha Unit of the MoD handed over the keys of the new car to the singing star who became disable for the rest of his life after sustaining injuries in the battlefield.
The gift has been sponsored by the MoD Seva Vanitha Unit chaired by Mrs. Ioma Rajapaksa. Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake was also associated with the event.
