DG, Training of Sudanese Armed Forces Calls at Army Headquarters

A three-member Sudanese delegation, headed by Major General Isam Mohamed Hassan Karor, Director General of Joint Training of Sudan’s Armed Forces, currently in Sri Lanka on a four-day long goodwill visit arrived at the Army Headquarters Monday (18) morning and paid a courtesy call on Major General Amal Karunasekara, Chief of Staff of the Army.

During the cordial meeting that followed, Major General Amal Karunasekara exchanged views with the visiting Sudanese Senior Officer and discussed matters of mutual interest and importance to both armed forces.

Major General Karunasekara during the meet inquired into possibilities of training programmes of bilateral nature and explained him about the international roles, being performed by the Sri Lanka Army.

The Sudanese delegation was comprised of Major General Isam Mohamed Hassan Karor, Director General of Joint Training of Sudan’s Armed Forces, Brigadier Assad Mohmoud Hassieb Gubara, Brigadier Osman Ismail Sirag Idriss and Colonel Tarig Mokhtar Mohamed Elamin.

An exchange of mementos brought the cordial meeting to end. Lieutenant Colonel Shiran Molligoda was also associated with the meeting at the office of the Chief of Staff.

Afterwards, the Sudanese delegation paid a courtesy call on the Director General of Army Training, Major General Vijitha Ravipriya at the Army Headquarters. During the interactive meeting, discussions focused on respective training modules that are underway in both organizations and their importance at both local and international arena.

Major General Hassan Karor indicated willingness to explore possibilities of initiating a few new courses in the Sudanese Army for the benefit of visiting trainee officers of other countries, evaluating merits of those training modules of international standards.

Together with Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, Colonel S Kasturimudali and Lieutenant Colonel M.S.K Salgado of the Directorate of Training were also associated with the meeting at the Directorate of Army Training.
