Deputy Head for Political, Human Rights and Press at the UK Mission to the UN in Geneva, Mr. Bob Last, First Secretary, Peacebuilding and Reconciliation, Mr Paul Green and Prosperity and Defence Support Officer, Ms Priyadharrshini Thillainathan had a cordial meeting with Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J), Major General Mahesh Senanayake on Monday (15).
Having received them on their arrival to the HQ SF-J, the Commander updated them about the present situation in the peninsula and had an amiable discussion in relation to reconciliation programme which would elevate the livelihood of Jaffna people. During the meeting Commander, SF-J explained military involvement in nation building and national security, such as the prevention of smuggling, drug trafficking, human trafficking, etc.
After cordial dialogue Commander SF-J presented a memento to Mr Bob Last as a token of his visit to Palaly.
Mr Bob Last placed his signature on the Visitors' Book to mark his memorable visit before leaving.
