Deputy Chief of Staff Sees Indian Southern Command Off

General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of India’s Southern Army Command Lieutenant General Ashok Singh and his delegation after their successful five-day long sojourn  in Sri Lanka left here for India on Saturday (22) afternoon.

The delegation, headed by Lieutenant General Ashok Singh comprised Mrs Usha Singh, Spouse of General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of India’s Southern Army Command Lieutenant General Ashok Singh, Major General Dewan Rabindranath Soni, Operations Officer, Southern Command Headquarters, Mrs Suman Soni, the spouse of Major General Soni arrived in Sri Lanka on Tuesday (18) and met Chief of Defence Staff, Commander of the Army, Commander of the Navy, Commander, Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna and Commander, Security Force Headquarters-Wanni the before visiting several places of interest.  A banquet, hosted by the Army honoured him Wednesday (19) night with a toast raised by the Commander of the Army.      

At the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport, Major General E.P de Z Abeysekara, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Army saw the Indian delegation off.

Lieutenant General Ashok Singh after a brief interaction with the Deputy Chief of Staff at the VIP lounge thanked the Army for all excellent arrangements and presented him a symbolic memento. Major General E.P de Z Abeysekara immortalized his visit to Sri Lanka by gifting a photo album that contains visual images of his stay in Sri Lanka.
