Delegates for 'Defence Seminar on 5Rs' Start Arriving

Delegates, scheduled to attend the Army organized ‘Defence Seminar on 5Rs’ (Reconstruction, Resettlement, Rehabilitation, Reintegration, Reconciliation) at Colombo Galadari Hotel, beginning Wednesday (8) morning, have commenced arriving in Sri Lanka since small hours of Tuesday (7).

Brigadier-General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Yussof bin Haji Abd Rahman, Brunei’s Commander of the Royal Land Forces, Major General Ahmed Shiyam, Maldives Chief of Defence Force Maj Gen Ahmed Shiyam and Lieutenant Yoosuf Rasheed (Maldives), Colonel Michael Collie (Australia), Major General S.M Shafiuddin, Brigadier General A.K.M Shawkat Hasan and Brigadier General Abu Mohammad Munir Alim (Bangladesh), Colonel Fernando Jose Soares Da Cunha Mattos and Colonel Wesley Vannuchi (Brazil), Colonel S.G Hafast (Nigeria), Dr. Russell Howard and Prof. Arie Kruglanski (USA), Lieutenant Colonel Mohamad Shafiee bin Hj Duraman (Brunei), Major General Datuk Mazelan Bin, Colonel Md Din Bin Abu and Lieutenant Colonel Pazil Bin Mat (Malaysia), Brigadier General Abdalwhab Masfer Alhamry, Lieutenant Colonel Hassan Abdulah Almalki, Major Mosaaed Abdullatif Alghanim and Major Hassan Abdulah (Saudi Arabia), Lieutenant  Colonel Wang Yushong, Lieutenant Colonel Lu Yin and Lieutenant Colonel Wu Qiong (China), Major General Jonathan Kipkemoi Rono and Brigadier Stephen Kihu Njung’e (Kenya) and Brigadier General Nouri Ben Taous (Tunisia) have already arrived in the country.

Major General (Retd) Ashok Mehta, Speaker, India, Major General G.S Shergill, Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Mrs. V.S Chandra Lekha, Prof. Nalapat Madhav Das and Mr. Shetty Jagdish Vasudev (India), Major General E.R Chioba and Brigadier General A.C Ebenebe (Nigeria), Colonel Kemmaphat Rotthong (Thailand), Lieutenant General (Retd) Asif Yasin Malik, Pakistan’s Defence Secretary, Major General Javed Iqbal Ramday and Brigadier Hamayun (Pakistan), Brigadier General Chola Museba (Zambia), Air Commodore Rex Krakue (Ghana), Colonel Dzulkafli Mustaffa (Malaysia), Colonel Putu Suardika (Indonesia), Colonel Patric Amogola (Kenya), Colonel Mehmet Dursun (Turkey), Colonel Hur Saemann (South Korea), Major General Cai Ping, Major Luo Shuang and Captain Huo Lei (China), Major General A.C Shalumbu (Namibia), Brigadier M.F Hamid and Colonel Youhuf Mohienein (Sudan), Colonel Ousmane Sar (Senegal), Colonel Konstantin Vasiliev (Russia) and Major General Nguyen Dinh Chien and Captain Vu Manh Hung (Vietnam), are among other delegates, expected to land in Sri Lanka from now onwards.

In addition, over 13 diplomats and their representatives from Colombo based foreign embassies have confirmed their participation by late Tuesday (7) afternoon.
