COUNTRY BEGINS A NEW ERA: PEOPLE REJOICE NEW LIBERATION

ALL SRI LANKANS, irrespective of their differences have joined hands together to mark the total eviction of  Tiger Terrorism from the Sri Lankan soil in the past 24 hours as news beamed over the media on the LTTE’s humiliating defeat.

Ground troops at this moment of writing are engaged in giving the toughest-ever last fight to the top-rung terrorist leaders who are fighting in the last few meters in the safe zone in PUTHUMATHALAN.  Reports said the fighting had enormously affected the morale of the Tiger hierarchy as more and more of Tiger leader’s confidantes are fast dwindling with deaths of Prabhakaran’s son, Charles Anthony, Pulidevan, Nadeshan, Illango, Sundaram and Kapil Amman et al.

National flags went atop all public buildings and private homes, jubilant people took to the streets, vehicles, motorbike-riders started waving National flags, common masses went on lighting crackers and the entire country wore festive garbs overnight as thousands started gluing to the TVs and dancing in the streets on hearing the fate of the Butchers in the Wanni.

These photos copied from media and some of them taken by Army Media Directorate photographers show the patriotic sentiments expressed by people across the country.
