MULLAITTIVU: DURING continuous searches that were conducted on Tuesday (16) by Army troops in the general areas PULLAYANPOKKANAI, WELLAMULLIVAIKKAL, CHALAI, PUTHUKKUDIYIRUPPU, KUPPILANKULAM and PATTIKKARAI, following LTTE arms, ammunition and explosive devices were recovered.
One 81 mm mortar launcher, three 81 mm mortar bombs, four T-56 weapons, six T-56 magazines, eleven hand grenades, four I-com sets, two 120 mm mortar bombs, five Bangalore torpedoes, one .22 rifles, seventy-seven boxes of 12.7 ammunition, sixteen 60 mm mortar bombs, three Multi Purpose Machine Gun (MPMG) links, ninety-nine anti personnel mines, twelve Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPG), five detonators, one claymore mine weighing about 13 kg and one round of pedal gun ammunition.
