Commander Takes Time Off to Watch Rugby

COMMANDER of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya took time off his busy day’s schedule last evening (8) and made a surprise entry into the sports pavilion at Army Headquarters in order to witness the inauguration of the annual Inter-Regiment Rugger Tournament.

Monday’s (8) first match occurred between Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps (SLAGSC) and Gajaba Regiment (GR) ruggerites. With 56 points, the SLAGSC won the match. 

The second half of the day’s match between Sri Lanka Armourd Corps (SLAC) and Sri Lanka Army Service Corps (SLASC) turned exciting and interesting as SLASC team emerged victorious with 24 points after a tough tussle.

SLAC, the mother unit of the incumbent Commander showed their skills and did not forget to greet their Commander before they left the grounds at the end of the match.
