Major General Sumedha Perera, Commander Security Force Headquarters –Central (SFHQ-C) paid his first official visit to the 11 Division Headquarters in Pallekelle, Kandy on Thursday (18) upon his assumption of office as the Commander SFHQ-C.
The day’s itinerary got underway after Major General Sumedha Perera was warmly received by Major General D.S.N.K Senadeera, General Officers Commanding (GOC), 11 Division.
Major General Sumedha Perera on his arrival reviewed the Guard Turnout at the entrance to the Divisional Headquarter premises in accordance with military formalities.
After the Commander addressed the officers and other ranks at the auditorium of 11 Division headquarters, the visiting Commander was presented with a memento by the GOC, 11 Division. The event culminated with planting of a tree sapling at the 11 Divisional premises to mark the SF Commander’s visit to the place.
Major General Perera subsequently visited the 111 Brigade, School of Signals, Buwelikade, 2(V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 2 Sri Lanka Rifle Corps premises
In the same evening, Major General Sumedha Perera worshiped the Temple of the Tooth and observed religious rites.
