Commander SF – KLN Formally Visits 65 & 57 Divisions

The newly-appointed Kilinochchi Commander of the Security Forces made his first formal visit to the 65 Division Headquarters at Thunukkai on Tuesday (17) and 57 Division Headquarters on Wednesday (18).

During his visit to the 65 Division Headquarters, Major General Ajith Kariyakarawana, Commander Security Forces-Kilinochchi (SF - KLN) was honoured in a Guard Turnout presented by 20 Battalion of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR) troops.

He was warmly welcomed to the 65 Division Headquarter by the General Officer Commanding, 65 Division and afterwards enlightened on roles and tasks, pertaining to 65 Division areas.

Then, the new Commander SF-KLN visited the Mulankavil Battalion Training School and addressed the troops there.

Major General W. A. S Weerawardana, General Officer Commanding, 65 Division along with senior officers, officers of the 65 Division and the other ranks listened to the new SF-KLN Commander.

Meanwhile, the new Killinichchi Commander on Wednesday (18) made his first official visit to the 57 Division Headquarters at Kilinochchi as a formality.

During his stay there, Brigadier Athula Galagamage, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division gave an update and a briefing to the visiting Kilinochchi Commander on present commitments and ongoing projects in the area.

New SF-KLN Commander added memories to the occasion by planting a sapling in the premises and inquired into the facilities of the troops and other welfare matters.

Before his departure, he addressed the troops at the Nelumpiyasa auditorium and urged them to continue their good work and professional training.

On arrival at the 57 Division Headquarters, troops saluted him in a formal Guard Turnout.
