Commander in Malaysia Shares Views with Malaysia's Chief of Army

Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake, Commander of the Army during his stay in Malaysia for participation in the 16th edition of Defence Services Asia (DSA) Exhibition – 2018 and its Conference met General Dato’ Sri Zulkiple bin Hj Kassim, Chief of Malaysian Army towards the end of conference sessions at Malaysia's International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC) in Kuala Lumpur.

Lieutenant General Senanayake during his lively interaction with his Malaysian counterpart invited him to take part in the forthcoming annual flagship event of the Army, 'Colombo Defence Seminar - 2018'. In response, the Malaysian Army Chief spoke high of Army achievements over terrorism in Sri Lanka and the need to share Sri Lanka's experiences for the benefit of his organization.

Sri Lankan Army Chief also pointed out the importance of having bilateral training programmes between both organizations. Citing military exercises, such as 'Cormorant Strike' of the Sri Lankan Army which has drawn international attention, Lieutenant General Senanayake requested the Malaysian counterpart to send his troops for this training in future. Other training aspects that would benefit both armies in the long run were also taken up during the cordial meeting between both chiefs.

Towards the end of the meeting, both of them symbolized their prevailing sentiments of goodwill by exchanging mementos.
