Commander Inspects 'Abimansala' Construction Site

COMMANDER of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya, accompanied by the Security Forces Commander Wanni Major General G.D.H.K Gunaratne on Wednesday (14) visited the construction site at Anuradhapura ‘Abimansala’, the wellness resort for totally dependent disabled War Heroes and saw for himself the progress of its construction work. 

Lieutenant General Jayasuriya took time off to walk around the site inspecting the progress of the construction of villas and cottages that are being constructed by soldiers belonging to Engineer Service Regiment.

He spoke to a cross-section of the officers, responsible for the project, spearheaded by the Seva Vanitha Army Branch and explored possibilities of expediting the project. Commander of the Army, who mooted the concept of providing a such resort for permanently disable War Heroes went into each and every detail of the project during his stay at the complex.

Afterwards, the Commander paid a visit to the sacred ‘Jaya Sri Maha Bodhi’ and invoked blessings on the future of the Army and its onward march. Members of the Maha Sangha, headed by Atamasthanadhipathi Ven. Pallegama Siriniwasabhidhana Nayake Thera chanted Seth Pirith and blessed the Commander.
