Commander Hails SLEME Achievements

THE first Colours Night of Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) was conducted at Bishop College auditorium on 22nd December 2009 evening. The Chief Guest for the occasion was the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya. Army Commander was welcomed on arrival by the Commandant of the Regiment Major General W.P.M.U.R. Perera.
  
The award ceremony started after lighting of the traditional oil lamp. The officers and soldiers belonging to SLEME were awarded colours at the ceremony.
 
Army Commander in his address to the gathering appreciated the national and international achievements of SLEME sportsmen. He further said that the discipline, self-confidence and team work learnt in sports is also important for the Army. After the recent victory, the Army has the opportunity now to help improvement of sports.

The ceremony was attended by all Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and their next of kin.
