Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake, Commander of the Army, currently in Brunei at the invitation of the Commander of Royal Brunei Land Forces, is attending Brunei Darussalam International Defence Exhibition (BRIDEX - 2013) and its Conference, now in progress (Dec 2-6) at Jerudong.
Lieutenant General Daya Ratnayake on Tuesday (3) during BRIDEX – 2013 conference sessions, had the rare distinction of extending greetings to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah of Brunei who is also the Prime Minister of Brunei and Crown Prince, His Royal Highness General Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah who is also a Senior Minister and the Deputy Inspector General of the Royal Brunei Police Force.
Lieutenant General Ratnayake on the sidelines of the Conference sessions had interactive sessions with world’s leading manufacturers and suppliers of defence equipment and systems and several top rank military officers, drawn from the world over.
The 4th BRIDEX – 2013, designed to promote the development of technologies in response to the challenges on the regional and international security, brings together worldwide military chiefs, high level defence officials and technological experts under this year’s theme, ‘Bridging the Capability Gap’.
The Conference preceded the inaugural opening of the Exhibition at Bridex Centre, Jerudong. Displays of new defence equipment, practical demonstrations, networking sessions, trade visits and several other features, dominate arrangements at the BRIDEX – 2013 during the five-day period.
