Commander Appreciates Good Work of Former Commander During Courtesy Visit

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Crisanthe De Silva Thursday (17) afternoon paid a courtesy call on the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake at the Army Headquarters.

During the cordial meeting, the Commander of the Army appreciated the good work and different projects that were launched by General Crisanthe De Silva when he was serving as the Commander of the Army. He also sought his support for continuation of the same in future.

The courtesy meet also focused on general matters of importance to the organization and nation-building tasks, entrusted to the Army.

Towards the end of the meeting, both of them exchanged mementos as tokens of goodwill and memory. The visiting CDS also penned a few compliments in the VIP book at the Commander’s office as a gesture of courtesy.

Lieutenant General Senanayake wished the former Commander of the Army good luck with his future assignments and joined the CDS for a group photo, together with the Chief of Staff, Principal Staff Officers and a few other Senior Officers.
