With the intention of promoting religious reconciliation and peace among all ethnic communities during Christmas season, a special mobile Christmas Carols programme got underway in the 68 Division area on Monday (25) in Putukuduirippu, Udayarkattu, Iranapalai and Walaimadam areas.
Christmas Carols sung by students in Tamil language were given gifts by the 682 and 683 Brigade Commanders during its movement to different areas.
Those festive features were organized on the instructions of Major General Dushyantha Rajaguru, Commander, Security Forces – Mullaittivu and under the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 68 Division.
Troops serving the 68 Division decorated the area erecting Christmas trees and many other decorations, related to Christmas. Spectators to Christmas Carols were entertained to snacks during the event.
