Chinese Donors Gift TV Units to War Heroes

A six-member delegation of Chinese donors from Leopard Motors (Pvt) Ltd, chaired by Mr Heming Zhu, together with Mrs Pan Lin Lin, Directress of the same company and five more members, gifted 20 LED TV sets for the use of War Heroes to the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) on Friday (19) in an appreciative gesture.

Mrs Damayanthi Ratnayake, President, ASVU after receiving the delegation at the entrance to the ASVU office complex ushered them to the auditorium in a colourful procession before the meeting proper got underway.

Soon after a presentation that elaborated the series of ASVU projects and services, being carried out for the greater benefit of War Heroes and their families, Mr Heming Zhu, the leader of the delegation, representing the delegation, handed over those twenty LED TV units symbolically to Mrs Damayanthi Ratnayake for distribution among the most needed.

The cultural troupe of the Army presenting traditional dances and entertaining features and a Chinese song by the Western band added colour to the occasion before the delegates posed for a group photo.

Mrs Sepali Samarasinghe, Vice President, ASVU, Mrs Shirani Ambanpola, Secretary, ASVU, Mrs Sharanki Dias, Deputy Public Relations Officer, ASVU and several more ASVU members attended the event.
